last day of 2015

It's been a while since I last blogged and I must say that 2015 was really a special year for me. It was my first experience of university and I met a lot of great new people. It was definitely a year where I've tried a lot of new things and had a lot of new firsts. It was also the year that I achieved my goal of having a special promposal to the girl that I admired during high school. It's nearing moments to the countdown and I really need to go for countdown with my grandparents now. Thank you 2015. It was definitely one of the best years of my life. Time to make 2016 even better. Follow through with my new years resolutions and aim high. 2016, Here I come.

DONE WITH IB

HEY EVERYONE. It's been a while since my last post. I guess throughout the past 2 years, I've just been so caught up with school and everything, that I didn't really make an effort to continue blogging. BUT I'M FINALLY DONE WITH IB. WOOOT!!! And the end of this program marks the end of my journey of high school. It's been a nice ride. I met a lot of great and awesome people throughout the way and it's just been a generally amazing experience. I feel like through the 2 years that I've been in the program, I've really grown as a person in both my knowledge of the world, as well as my personality. I guess I'm just a lot more mature and responsible now. I also procrastinate less now.

But this personal growth is not just specific to my 2 years within the IB program, but the entirety of my high school experience. I still remember the 1st day of high school. I was a scared little boy entering such a big school. I was intimidated and scared. There were so many people. I seemed crazy hearing that Churchill would be my home for the next 5 years. Grads of 2015. However, through time, I got used to the change. It is through every single person that I met in high school that got me to where I am today. All the friendships and bonds that were created through this 5 year journey. I thank everyone that has been a part of this journey. And here I am in 2015. Just a few days away from being in my grad ceremony. Time honestly flashed by so quickly. I still can't believe I'm graduating. To believe that I'll never be in high school again. It really scares me. I'm proud of myself and glad that I survived and did things that I thought would be impossible. All the projects, assignments, and exams. I've done it all.

And here I am. 2015. Off to UBC. Here's to another great 4 years that will just zoom by like a fly.

Last Moment of 2013

Well. Today is the last day of 2013. There's only 4 more minutes until it's 2014. I guess I just wanted to spend the time today reviewing what I've accomplished in 2013. 2013 has been a great year. Met a lot of new people. Started IB at school. Haha i even think I've gained some muscle. But anyway that's not the point. My biggest accomplishment in 2013, I would say, would have to be the fact that I accomplished what I thought would be impossible. 2013 was the year I started playing ultimate. I would spend every moment during the summer playing and I know I'm not the best at ultimate, but I got to a skill level that I was quite proud of. I also managed to impress someone I wanted to impress and got them to notice me. Not sure if I impressed them in a good way or a bad way but i got them to notice me. Last 9 minutes of me being 15.

Well. This time of year has come again. I am now turning 16. You know, time passes by quite quickly when you're having fun and honestly I can't believe just how fast time has been passing by. With these last 9 minutes of my life, I will take this time to contemplate what I have accomplished this year. It's been a good year. I'm now officially in IB and right now, I'm just spending the last of what is now 6 minutes left of me being 15. I always expected my sweet sixteen to be something special. I would always see these tv shows with people celebrating their 16th birthday in the craziest ways. However, if everything goes just like every other day, tomorrow will just be another normal school day. Nothing special. When you grow older, birthdays just tend to be less and less important. Just another regular day in life. I am really going to miss being 15. I felt like a kid still when I said I was 15. 16 is now the age to drive which is a huge responsibility that only adults have. I think I'm becoming an adult. Ha. Some things I am really proud of doing during my age of 15 would be wakeboarding this year for sure. I had loads of fun. I guess another thing would be making my Youtube videos which I really enjoy and having the new friends that I made and developing other friendships. I also got 7 As in Pre-IB which I am very grateful and proud of. *sigh* Another year. 1 minute left. I guess this is it. Last seconds of being 15. I'll miss you. I wish that things become better than it was when I was 15. Goodbye!

Death

Recently, the idea of death has really been floating through my mind. Why? Well it's quite complicated. I have a friend of my grandmother's who is dying. To my knowledge, she has Alzheimer's disease and it's really impacted her greatly. I remember when I was little, we would visit her from time to time. She was a really nice lady who would make this really nice fried rice. I remember how I would always eat 2-3 bowls of her delicious delicacy. Even though I haven't tasted her rice for 6-7 years now, the taste still lingers within my mind. I wish I still got the chance of eating her rice but she's too sick to do anything now. Who knew the last time I've ever had her rice would be the last time of my life. She would always smile when she saw me with her beautiful smile and her warm glowing eyes. I felt welcome whenever I saw her. She's a beautiful lady. 2 weeks ago, I saw her for the first time in years and that was when it hit me, how much the disease was really affecting her. She wasn't the same lady I knew years ago. I was expecting a welcoming smile feeling the same amount of warmth I've felt from the last time I saw her. However, what I encountered was a cold dead smile and eyes of no recognition or regard for who I was. She forgot who I was. The same lady would give my family fried rice and the same lady who would smile at me every time she saw me forgot me. I really miss the old days where life was just so much better and everyone was just so much younger. I was faced with the face of death that day. The face of a dying person. It just makes me realize how real this world really is. This really makes me fear Alzheimer's taking someone close to me. Someone that I love. I fear death.

End of Pre-IB

Holy. I never realized how long I stopped blogging for. It's a shame really. I had a goal to continue blogging for the rest of this school year but I guess that didn't last for too long as I had a lot more to do. Well anyways a lot of things have happened between this time period. Firstly, I'm done with Pre-IB and we've also gotten results for people that have moved on towards IB. A lot of friends didn't make it unfortunately and it's really disappointing. I made it and I'm blessed for that. Anyways, a few days ago, we had our IB orientation and we got a sneak peek of what IB is gonna be like. I got 2 words to describe it. More stress. This is really gonna suck. We got 6 books we have to read during the summer. Oh boy. I'm really beginning to wonder whether all this stress is gonna be worth it in the end. A lot of my good friends are gonna be there to go through the tough war of IB with me. Whatever happens I guess happens. Anyways, this is the week of our provincials and currently, I've finished the Math Provincial and the Science Provincial, both which were decent. Now I just gotta get through the English Provincial coming up tomorrow. Oh, also I forgot to mention, I also have a violin RCM Grade 8 exam on Saturday. I have roughly about a day or two. I really hope I pass. I'm like super super scared. At least after all this, it'll be freedom. Endless nights of summer and vacation in Hong Kong, the sweetest place for wakeboarding. Stoked for summer! Until my next blog, whenever that may be.

well it was nice while it lasted

im a little late but winter break's over already. *sigh*. winter break was fun but it wasn't as great as it was last year. I still remember the fun I had on Christmas last year and I specifically remember watching a whole series of Avatar the Last Airbender during the last few days of my break. *sigh* yup. it was pretty dang fun. Well with the break being over, that means 4 projects due this month. *sigh* this sucks a lot. Lets see. I have an English reading project due on the 24th, a S.S essay test to take on the 24th, a French film project on the 25th, and a Science fair project due in the first few days of February. I really don't know how to sort this out anymore. So considering I have roughly 2 weeks to do these projects and it's pretty hard. I've finished reading one book and I still have another book that I still haven't gotten yet. Now I'm starting to get worried about it. WHYYYYYYYYYY. omg. I have 2 weeks to rush a book. Not very good. Well at least the book is only 309 pages which is good I guess. *sigh*. This is gonna be one hell of a month.

first day of being 15

wow. yesterday was my last day of being 14 and I forgot to blog about it. But whatever. *sigh* Being 15 is nice and all. I feel pretty dang old. i'm like halfway to 30. Dam. Well other then it being my birthday, it's also 12/12/12. Happy 12/12/12 to everyone out there. This will probably be the last 12/12/12 we'll ever have. Well in our lifetime anyways. Today was fun. I even got a piggyback ride. But yeaa. Happy 12/12/12 everyone and enjoy it while you can. I would tell you to make a wish at 12/12/12 12:12:12 but it's already too late for that. At least I got to make a wish. What is it? Well I'm not allowed to tell or else it won't come true. Happy 12/12/12 and hope you enjoyed the day as much as I did. =)

PSAT

dayum im tired. I just handed in my science proposal today along finishing the PSAT test. Omgggg. Pre-IB pressure is pretty insane. I've been sleeping at like 1 for the past few days and I dont think I could even remember a time that I wasn't tired. anyways i got a socials project to take notes for. Goodness. next week is gonna be one heck of a week. i got 2 science tests and 3 projects.

3 projectssss

omgggggggg. i have 3 projects due in like a weeek. omgggg. being in pre-IB is pretty dang stressful. and i kinda wasted my Sunday because i fell asleep at around 1 pm and woke up at 4. I was just soo tired from yesterday because i slept at 1 finishing up my book for English. omgggg. soooo stressful. Right now, im trying to think of a Science fair project because the proposals due on wednesday. hmmm what should i do for my project this year.

life of pre-ib

*sigh* school just isn't the same anymore. I missed the days where there was still Synergy and we would all have fun chilling with school not even being super stressful except for some weeks where we would get projects and such but it was a pretty good life. Synergy seemed like a family. If you were stressing out, you would stress out together. Now in Pre-IB. I don't know. Just not the same. It doesn't even seem like a family anymore. No more 4 Synergy classes where we would get the same 30 people. Now it's just normal high school. Looking back, Grade 8 and 9 are probably gonna be the happiest years of high school. Nothing ahead but Pre-IB and IB. Then again, I guess it's different for everyone. Some people like big crowds and meeting new people but some people like me, just like small groups.

Speaking of big crowds, today we had a Pre-IB celebration where all the Pre-IB students would play some games and get formally introduced to Pre-IB. It was okay but I'd take Synergy any day.

Summerrrr

well that was it for summer. It ended pretty dang quick but that's just like every other summer i guess. Let's see. What did I do this summer? Hmmm. Well i went to Hong Kong just like every year, then to Singapore, and went to the Universal Studios in Singapore which was SUPERRR fun. I returned back to Hong Kong and went wakeboarding. That was what I was looking forward to all summer. It ended up pretty well. I improved alot and was able to do some really cool turns and even ended up learning how to do a 180 backside turn. You would have to turn to the back having your back face the boat dragging you backwards then finish the turn you were doing. Next summer, I'm planning to enter a competition. Now other than wakeboarding in Hong Kong, this summer, I even learnt how to cook which was pretty dang fun. Throughout the summer I've made like 7-8 dishes of my own. During the last day of my stay in Hong Kong, I made a meal for the whole family. I made Caesar Salad, Vietnamese Spring Rolls, Pad Thai, Lamb Rack, and finished the meal with appetizing brownies for dessert. *sigh*. I miss summer already. Now I'm back in Vancouver with school already starting. This year is probably gonna be alot different from Grade 8 or 9. Now that I'm in Pre-IB and all. I won't even get 4 classes with my Synergies. I guess we just gonna wait till tomorrow to see whose in my class and all that. Goodbye Grade 9 and helllooooooo there Grade 10.

Arguments

Arguments. Why do people argue? Is it for the better or for the worse? Does it mean that someone cares about you so that they argue or does it count as conflict? Sometimes, you could be arguing about the dumbest things. People argue about something they don't agree on whether it's about knowledge or just simple things they talk about. Behind every single argument is someone's ignorance. It's really up to you to solve an argument or just leave things the way they are. Sometimes, you can't expect things to be done for you and you have to take action yourself. Everyone has arguments and you can't expect everything to go perfectly as you wish. After an argument, just remember that what's done is done. It's a thing of the past. Think of it as a lesson. Everything you go through is suppose to prepare you for life. In every moment of your life, you need to think of the best possible thing you could do in that moment, in the present. Prepare for the future and forget about the past.

Father's Day

soo today, for Fathers Day, me and my parents decided to go to Premium Outlet at the US to go shopping. I ended up buying some new clothes and 2 pairs of jeans while my mom got a new purse from Coach and my dad got a new jacket. It was a pretty successful shopping day. I ended up getting a pair of Vans shoes too. We also got some groceries at Costco on the way and when we got back to Vancouver we tried to eat out but all the restaurants were filled with people. We ended just going back home and making our special dinner. pretty good father's day. =)

Moment Gone Wrong

Moments in our lives are simple. Some of them go wrong and some of them turn out great. They also have the expectancy to change from good to great or from good to bad. When it does the transition from good to bad, you wonder in your head, "How could things go so wrong." Then you realize that it was what you've said. You might not like the fact that you have bad moments but it's part of life. You just have to keep in mind that the next day will always be a new day to start over and have a new shot at life.

Last Blog of Synergy

the last blog of Synergy. Wow. From the first few days I've started blogging to today. So many things have changed and so much of my life has developed. I've met a lot of great friends and done a lot of great projects. I think I've gotten more mature then I was when I first started Synergy and I met a lot of great friends. I'm quite glad I got a chance to be in this program. With it being the last day of school, there were tears and laughs of joy. It was mostly tears on our last Synergy class. We made a circle and we went around just talking about our emotions. It just made me realize how much more I'm gonna miss Synergy. All the friends and people I've met through it. All the memories. It was fun dancing for Buskerfest and now everytime I hear the song, "Celebration", I'll always think back to my first year of high school. Sometimes, it's not the song that makes you emotional, it's the people and things that come to your mind when you hear it. I've had a lot of fun performing and practicing for it. Also, I'll always cherish the photographs we've taken as a family together in Synergy. You look at a photograph and you wish you could re-live that moment over and over again. I wish I could go back to the day I first came into Synergy. Anyways, I really don't know what to say to perfectly end this last blog. I hope someday we'll all be together somehow again. All of us together. Wherever we may be. Thanks everyone for making my first two years at high school fun. Thanks to Mr. Olson for reading my blog for 2 years. Hopefully I'll still continue blogging. This whole experience has been fun. The ride is now officially over. It was fun while it lasted but all good things have to come to an end right? We just gotta learn to move on. Synergy of 2010-2012. It was nice while it lasted but now, goodbye. "Goodbyes will always hurt, memories good or bad will bring tears and words can never replace feelings."
